This property can be used for cases where an entity (initially created for "organizations") has other things that are associated with it or part of it but where those things are not yet understood well enough to create a separate and related entity. In the case of organizations, this was used to encode things like former sub-organizations or components that are sufficiently different from the instantiated subject to need their text recorded somewhere in order to find and link other things to the identified subject. This was seen as preferable to overloading the aliases list with labels that are not exactly the same thing as the subject entity.
