"abstract": "Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a family of human-made chemicals that can persist in the environment. In 2019, the California State Water Resources Control Board\u2019s Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP) added PFAS to the projects\u2019 on-going assessments of the quality of groundwater used for drinking-water supplies. This fact sheet describes the GAMA-PBP plans for sampling public-supply and domestic wells across California for PFAS and presents preliminary results for data collected in 2019\u201320.",
