       "abstract": "As a Hydrologist and Supervisory Hydrologist with the USGS, John conducted and coordinated a variety of hydrologic studies in the USGS Texas and Minnesota Water Science Centers (WSC) and served as the Director of the USGS New Mexico WSC from 2016 to 2020. John joined the New England WSC in February 2020 and is privileged to work with the Center\u2019s 190 talented staff completing a diverse scientific program of hydrologic monitoring, water-quality assessments, hydrology and hydraulics, environmental hydrology, watershed and urban hydrology, integrated hydrologic modeling, and statistical and geospatial studies in the Northeast Region, specifically Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, as well as Nationally. Prior to joining the USGS, John earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas and worked as a private environmental consultant."
