"description": "The text file in CSV (comma-separated values) format contains marine magnetic data from 291 cruises in the Northern Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea. These data originate from two sources: 266 cruises from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) Marine Trackline Geophysical Database (GEODAS) -- https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/access/metadata/landing-page/bin/iso?id=gov.noaa.ngdc:G00129 -- and 25 cruises from USGS holdings, including Scheirer and others (2023). Magnetic records were assigned one of three codes for quality and usability: 0=good data, -1=good data, but magnetic anomalies cannot be recalculated because of missing total field values (three cruises), and -2=bad data. Magnetic anomalies were calculated with the definitive geomagnetic reference field (DGRF) models included in the 12th Generation of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field model (Th\u00e9bault and others, 2015).",
