"description": "Plumeria is a one-dimensional model for wind-driven volcanic plumes. It was originally written in 2007 in Visual Basic to analyze plumes during the 2004-2008 eruption of Mount St. Helens. The version in this repository, Plumeria_wd, has been modified for crosswinds, translated to Fortran, and tested by comparing predicted with observed plume heights from multiple eruptions. It was compared with other 1D and 3D plume models 2016, has been used in several published studies to estimate mass eruption rate from plume height, to assess when condensation and freezing may occur in plumes, and their association with lightning, and to compare the path of bent plumes in laboratory studies.",
