Two homes were destroyed, and seven others were condemned. Mitigation efforts involved partially filling the sinkhole and creating an open-water pond surrounded by shrubs. This tutorial explores how the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) can be used to analyze changes in vegetation cover at a specific location over time. We can track NDVI values before and after the sinkhole event by focusing on a single pixel within the affected area. Changes in the NDVI might indicate:\n1. Increased NDVI due to the vegetation surrounding the sinkhole\n2. Decreased NDVI due to the presence of the open-water pond", "descriptionType": "Abstract" } ], "geoLocations": [], "fundingReferences": [], "url": "https://code.usgs.gov/eros-user-services/processing_landsat_data/retrieving-single-pixel-values-through-time", "contentUrl": null, "metadataVersion": 0, "schemaVersion": "http://datacite.org/schema/kernel-4", "source": "api", "isActive": true, "state": "findable", "reason": null, "viewCount": 0, "downloadCount": 0, "referenceCount": 0, "citationCount": 0, "partCount": 0, "partOfCount": 0, "versionCount": 0, "versionOfCount": 0, "created": "2024-08-20T18:30:04Z", "registered": "2024-08-20T18:30:05Z", "published": null, "updated": "2024-08-20T18:30:05Z" }
