Authigenic calcite\u00a0\u03b418O values range from \u221216\u2030 to \u221221\u2030 and are presently similar to modern lake water and annual precipitation values. Ostracod\u00a0\u03b418O record near identical trends with calcite, offset by +1.7\u00a0\u00b1\u00a00.6\u2030. At 11\u00a0ka BP (kaBP\u00a0=\u00a0thousands of years before 1950), higher\u00a0\u03b418O values reflect decreased precipitation\u2212evaporation (P\u2212E) balance from residual ice sheet influences on moisture availability. A trend to lower\u00a0\u03b418O values until \u223c8\u00a0ka BP reflects a shift to wetter conditions, and reorganization of atmospheric circulation. The last millennium and modern era are relatively dry, though not as dry as the early Holocene extreme.
