The apparatus is calibrated by a comparison standard\u00a0(platinum)\u00a0and results are shown for\u00a0platinum,\u00a0nickel\u00a0aluminate, lead,\u00a0manganese,\u00a0and sucrose. A precision of better than 2% can be obtained on submilligram amounts of\u00a0paramagnetic\u00a0substances having a\u00a0magnetic susceptibility\u00a0of from 1 to 50\u00d710\u22126\u00a0emu/g.
