These natural resources are managed by staff from the Department of the Interior, Department of Agriculture, and other federal and state agencies who must make difficult decisions daily, balancing their stewardship responsibilities with land uses such as livestock and packstock operations, resource extraction, fire management and community protection, off-highway vehicle recreation, and various other visitor uses.
