     "text": "The Stikine River near Wrangell and Petersburg is the largest watershed in this study. The Red Chris mine is located on the Iskut River, a primary tributary to the Stikine. This open pit mine began operation in 2014 and is expected to remain in operation through 2043. Another large project, Galore Creek, is under development on the lower Stikine close to the U.S. border. The USGS began sampling the Stikine in May 2019."
