Prior to coming to FORT, she received her M.S. degree in Ecology from Colorado State University studying effects of bison grazing on the structure and function of grasslands in North Rim, Grand Canyon National Park. Her research included the design and implementation of long-term grazing exclosures throughout the Grand Canyon ecosystem and she worked with multiple federal partners (NPS and USFS) as well as the Arizona Game and Fish Dept. While at Colorado State University, she held various positions in natural resource research and management with agencies such as The National Parks Service, AmeriCorps, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, conducting research on both terrestrial and aquatic habitats. Her work is driven by her love for wildlife, natural resources, and conservation.", "additionalType": "personal statement" } ], "email": "dmusto@usgs.gov", "hasCredential": [ { "@type": "EducationalOccupationalCredential", "name": "2020 - 2023 Master of Science in Ecology, Department of Ecosystem Science and Sustainability, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO" }, { "@type": "EducationalOccupationalCredential", "name": "2013 - 2017 B.S. in Wildlife Biology with a Concentration in Conservation, and a Minor in Environmental Affairs, Department of Natural Resources, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO" }, { "@type": "EducationalOccupationalCredential", "name": "Sept. 2015 - Dec. 2015 School for Field Studies Center for Wildlife Management, Tanzania, East Africa" } ], "hasOccupation": [ { "@type": "OrganizationalRole", "affiliatedOrganization": { "@type": "Organization", "name": "Fort Collins Science Center", "url": "https://www.usgs.gov/centers/fort-collins-science-center" }, "roleName": "Biologist", "startDate": "2024-05-12T14:24:22.435892" }, { "@type": "Occupation", "additionalType": "self-claimed professional experience", "name": "Aug. 2023 \u2013 Oct. 2023 Aquatic Toxicology Technician, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Fort Collins, CO" }, { "@type": "Occupation", "additionalType": "self-claimed professional experience", "name": "Aug. 2020 \u2013 Aug. 2023 Graduate Research Assistant, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO" }, { "@type": "Occupation", "additionalType": "self-claimed professional experience", "name": "Sept. 2016 \u2013 Sept. 2022 Aquatic Biology Laboratory and Field Technician, Timberline Aquatics, Fort Collins, CO" }, { "@type": "Occupation", "additionalType": "self-claimed professional experience", "name": "Apr. 2020 \u2013 Aug. 2020 Guest Scientist, AmeriCorps, Grand Canyon National Park, North Rim, AZ" }, { "@type": "Occupation", "additionalType": "self-claimed professional experience", "name": "May 2019 \u2013 Oct. 2019 Biological Science Technician, National Parks Service, Grand Canyon National Park, North Rim, AZ" } ], "identifier": [ { "@type": "PropertyValue", "propertyID": "GeoKB", "value": "https://geokb.wikibase.cloud/entity/Q166013" }, { "@type": "PropertyValue", "propertyID": "ORCID", "value": "0000-0002-0288-7624" } ], "jobTitle": "Biologist", "knowsAbout": [ { "@type": "Thing", "additionalType": "self-claimed expertise", "name": "Habitat and Population Monitoring" }, { "@type": "Thing", "additionalType": "self-claimed expertise", "name": "Plant Ecology" }, { "@type": "Thing", "additionalType": "self-claimed expertise", "name": "Wildlife Ecology" } ], "memberOf": { "@type": "OrganizationalRole", "member": { "@type": "Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey" }, "name": "staff member", "startDate": "2024-05-12T14:24:22.433340" }, "name": "Dana T Musto", "url": "https://www.usgs.gov/staff-profiles/dana-t-musto" }, "status_code": "200" }, "ORCID": { "@context": "http://schema.org", "@id": "https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0288-7624", "@reverse": {}, "@type": "Person", "familyName": "Musto", "givenName": "Dana", "mainEntityOfPage": "https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0288-7624" }
