Before joining the USGS, Delia worked in various scientific research, laboratory management, and quality management positions in academic and government institutions in Florida. Her scientific research projects include water quality, wetland and upland soil biogeochemistry, and lakes and wetland restoration, including a multi-million dollar research program on large-scale Stormwater Treatment Areas for Everglades Restoration. She developed and managed various scales of quality management systems."
