Map showing foundation conditions in the Fairbanks D-2 SE Quadrangle, Alaska

In the Fairbanks area, the effects of development on the geologic environment must be considered in determining proper land use. Persons concerned with the land, especially land planners, developers, public officials, engineers, architects, financial advisors, and educators, must be aware of recognizable geologic features that may prove hazardous; only then can proper and economical land usage be insured.
