 - '@type': TextObject
abstract: Shawna Zimmerman is a biologist at the Fort Collins Science Center in
Fort Collins, Colorado. Her work focuses on using genetic and genomic tools
to better understand wildlife species, often for species that are of special
conservation concern. Her research explores the various ways genetic data can
inform conservation, including the influence of landscape composition on population
structure and how populations may be adapted to their local environments. Her
work also includes the development of statistical models to predict and understand
the genetic consequences of management actions and genetic-based frameworks
     for population monitoring.
