A large portion of our work is conducted using the 50-foot converted seiner R/V Alaskan Gyre as a research platform. From the deck of the Gyre, we conduct line transect surveys for seabirds, mid-water trawls to sample forage fishes and invertebrates, hydroacoustic surveys, a variety of water quality sampling, and prepare eDNA and water samples for later analysis using a modified lab space below. additionalType: personal statement email: ddonnelly@usgs.gov hasCredential: [] hasOccupation: - '@type': OrganizationalRole affiliatedOrganization: '@type': Organization name: Alaska Science Center url: https://www.usgs.gov/centers/alaska-science-center roleName: Biologist startDate: '2024-05-10T20:43:10.081489' - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: 2021 - Present Biologist; US Geological Survey, Alaska Science Center, Anchorage AK. - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: 2018 - 2021 Prince William Sound Zone Fish Biologist; US Forest Service, Chugach NF, Cordova AK. - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: 2018 Fishery Biologist, USGS Alaska Science Center, Anchorage AK - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: 2017 - 2018 South Zone Fish Biologist, USFS Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, Elk City ID - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: 2014 - 2017 Fisheries Technician; US Fish and Wildlife Service, Fairbanks AK/Grand Junction CO. - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: 2013 Fisheries Technician, Idaho cooperative fish and wildlife research unit, University of Idaho, Moscow, ID. identifier: - '@type': PropertyValue propertyID: ORCID value: 0000-0001-9456-885X - '@type': PropertyValue propertyID: GeoKB value: https://geokb.wikibase.cloud/entity/Q45777 jobTitle: Biologist knowsAbout: - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Population dynamics - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Marine fish ecology - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Anadromous fish life history - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Seabird forage memberOf: '@type': OrganizationalRole member: '@type': Organization name: U.S. Geological Survey name: staff member startDate: '2024-05-10T20:43:10.078022' name: Daniel S Donnelly url: https://www.usgs.gov/staff-profiles/daniel-s-donnelly
