On occasion, I also assist the Hydrologic Studies Program with sampling for the Pennsylvania Water Quality Network.Previously, I performed fieldwork included biological and hydrologic data collection in isolated and forested watersheds in the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon, Washington, and Northern California. During this time, I participated in projects that spanned a large geographic area and included public lands such as Mt. Rainier National Park, North Cascades National Park, Willamette National Forest, and Mt. Hood National Forest, among others. Data collected included channel morphology, stream gradient, benthic substrate, water chemistry, environmental DNA, and macroinvertebrates. additionalType: personal statement email: vcortes@usgs.gov hasCredential: - '@type': EducationalOccupationalCredential name: B.A. Biological Sciences, Drew University 2018 hasOccupation: - '@type': OrganizationalRole affiliatedOrganization: '@type': Organization name: Pennsylvania Water Science Center url: https://www.usgs.gov/centers/pennsylvania-water-science-center roleName: Physical Scientist startDate: '2024-05-12T15:22:16.987083' - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: Hydrologic Technician, USGS Pennsylvania Water Science Center, since 2018 - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: U.S. Forest Service, Biological Science Technician, Aquatic and Riparian Effectiveness Monitoring Program, Corvallis, Oregon identifier: - '@type': PropertyValue propertyID: GeoKB value: https://geokb.wikibase.cloud/entity/Q45482 jobTitle: Physical Scientist knowsAbout: - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: surface water discharge - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: surveying - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: continuous hydrologic data processing - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: water quality sampling memberOf: '@type': OrganizationalRole member: '@type': Organization name: U.S. Geological Survey name: staff member startDate: '2024-05-12T15:22:16.984540' name: Victor S Cortes, II url: https://www.usgs.gov/staff-profiles/victor-s-cortes
