personal_statement: She started working at the USGS when she was a student at
the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. While working at the USGS as a
undergraduate, Krista assisted with surface water and ecological sampling for
the National Water Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Western Lake Michigan (WMIC) and
Upper Illinois study areas. Krista has continued working in water quality and
has turned her focus to groundwater and continuous water quality monitoring. Some
of her other project work includes database management, HEC-RAS modeling, statistical
analysis of soil and water chemistry data, and hydrologic data analysis.AREAS
