       "description": "Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, located on the west coast of the island of Hawai'i, contains many important and sacred Native Hawaiian cultural sites. Ancient Hawai'i was governed by a system of laws called kapu. If kapu was broken by someone, they could seek forgiveness and refuge behind the walls of the Pu'uhonua. While there were multiple Pu'uhonua, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau is the best preserved. The park was established in 1961.",
