This facility, the Fredericksburg Magnetic Observatory, is 1 of 14 observatories the U.S. Geological Survey Geomagnetism Program operates at various locations across the United States and its Territories as a service to the Nation and in support of a diversity of governmental, academic, and commercial scientific projects.",
