       "abstract": "Amarys started her career in 2008 as a Hydrologic Technician in Ft. Lauderdale, FL with the USGS Florida Water Science Center (now Caribbean Florida Water Science Center). Her work involved construction, programming, monitoring, calibrating, and maintenance of remote tidal index-velocity and water quality monitoring stations in extreme south mainland Florida and the southwest coast of the state. She developed her foundation in hydroacoustics, index velocity and DECODES during this time.In 2015, Amarys transferred to the Oregon Water Science Center in Portland, OR. She is part of the QAQC team within the data program. Amarys has lead the DECODES team in Oregon since 2017 and is an LDM for the ORWSC. She continues to do field work and trains fellow staff in hydroacoustics, index velocity and surface water techniques. In addition to this, Amarys participates in the testing of DECAP software which will eventually replace DECODES (software used to process real-time data files) and as a trainer for SW1321 Streamflow measurements using ADCPs."
