   abstract: The team at NUPO has been leading USGS UAS activities  since May 8,
     2008.  During the past 12 years, significant investments were made to develop
     and implement UAS policy, procedures, coordination, testing and operations for
     executing applied scientific research and daily operational activities.  The
     USGS has been on the cutting-edge of this technology and is widely recognized
     as a leading expert across the Federal Civil Community.  Lance holds aviation
     ratings with the Federal Aviation Administration.  He has been actively involved
     with UAS technology since 2004 and brings his years of manned aviation, remote
     sensing and photogrammetry to NUPO.
