   personal_statement: Currently he is investigating ephemeral streams in Western
     Colorado with the hopes of targeting remediation locations to reduce sediment
     and salinity loading into the Colorado River. Previously, he focused most of
     his career in snow and hydrological processes in the Alaska arctic. He received
     his PhD in Interdisciplinary Hydrology, Civil Engineering from the University
     of Alaska Fairbanks in 2015, where he conducted a comprehensive investigation
     of solid and liquid precipitation in the Alaska Central Arctic.
