The main objectives of this multiyear project were to: Compare bee communities in three \u201cvulnerable\u201d habitats (high elevation, inland arid, coastal) and paired \u201ccommon\u201d habitats, representative of the landscape matrix, in order to determine whether vulnerable habitats have a distinctive bee fauna that may be at higher risk under climate change scenarios. Inform natural resource managers at each park about the bee fauna at their paired sites, including the presence of rare and endemic species, and make suggestions for active management strategies to promote native bee habitat if warranted. Increase awareness among park natural resource staffs, interpreters, and visitors of native bee diversity and natural history, the essential role of bees in maintaining healthy ecosystems, and potential threats from climate change to pollinator-dependent ecosystems.", "description": "7 p.", "publisher": { "@type": "Organization", "name": "National Park Service" }, "author": [ { "@type": "Person", "name": "Grundel, Ralph rgrundel@usgs.gov", "givenName": "Ralph", "familyName": "Grundel", "email": "rgrundel@usgs.gov", "identifier": { "@type": "PropertyValue", "propertyID": "ORCID", "value": "0000-0002-2949-7087", "url": "https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2949-7087" }, "affiliation": [ { "@type": "Organization", "name": "Great Lakes Science Center", "url": "https://www.usgs.gov/centers/great-lakes-science-center" } ] }, { "@type": "Person", "name": "Rykken, Jessica", "givenName": "Jessica", "familyName": "Rykken", "affiliation": [ { "@type": "Organization", "name": "Harvard University" } ] }, { "@type": "Person", "name": "Rodman, Ann", "givenName": "Ann", "familyName": "Rodman", "affiliation": [ { "@type": "Organization", "name": "National Park Service, Upper Columbia Basin Network" } ] }, { "@type": "Person", "name": "Droege, Sam sdroege@usgs.gov", "givenName": "Sam", "familyName": "Droege", "email": "sdroege@usgs.gov", "affiliation": [ { "@type": "Organization", "name": "Patuxent Wildlife Research Center", "url": "https://www.usgs.gov/centers/pwrc" } ] } ], "funder": [ { "@type": "Organization", "name": "Great Lakes Science Center", "url": "https://www.usgs.gov/centers/great-lakes-science-center" } ], "spatialCoverage": [ { "@type": "Place", "additionalType": "country", "name": "United States", "url": "https://geonames.org/4074035" } ] }
