   personal_statement: Ron retired from the US Navy after serving 23 Years.  Upon
     retirement from the US Navy he enrolled at Western Dakota Technical Institute
     in 2010, earing an Associates of Science degree.  Between his first and second
     year he interned at the Massachusetts Water Science Center.  Upon graduation
     in 2012 he was hired by the Ithaca Office of the New York Water Science Center
     as a Hydrologic Technician where he continues to work today.
