   - My research uses analysis of sedimentary processes to reconstruct depositional
     environments at the map scale, outcrops, cores, and thin sections.  The reconstructions
     are used to develop mapping strategies, climatic reconstructions, exploration
     of economic minerals or hydrocarbons, or to resolve problems such as pollution,
     erosion, or hazard analysis.
