       "abstract": "I am a volcanologist who provides guidance and technical assistance on program development, disaster response, and mitigation activities as the leader of the Volcano Hazards Program.I have 20 years of experience as the USGS and USAID/BHA Natural Hazards and Disaster Risk Reduction Team Lead and Geoscience Advisor. I led the USAID/BHA team that addresses issues related to international geological and meteorological hazards and general disaster risk reduction, including climate change. I guided programs, disaster response, and mitigation efforts in the fields of earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, and tsunamis to USAID/BHA, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and other bureaus in USAID. I served as a liaison with the USGS and helped to manage the USGS-USAID Volcano Disaster Assistance Program and the Landslide and Earthquake Disaster Assistance Teams."
