I was part of a team that developed the first non-invasive monitoring scheme for any avian species, I was involved in development of novel high-frequency GPS-GSM telemetry systems for tracking migratory birds, and I developed a network of camera traps to monitor abundance and distribution of terrestrial avian scavengers across eastern North America. Much of my recent funding is focused on evaluating the potential impacts of renewable energy development on conservation-dependent birds. additionalType: personal statement email: tkatzner@usgs.gov hasCredential: - '@type': EducationalOccupationalCredential name: Ph.D., Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ (2003) - '@type': EducationalOccupationalCredential name: M.S., University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY (1994) - '@type': EducationalOccupationalCredential name: B.A., Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH (1991) hasOccupation: - '@type': OrganizationalRole affiliatedOrganization: '@type': Organization name: Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center url: https://www.usgs.gov/centers/forest-and-rangeland-ecosystem-science-center roleName: Supervisory Research Wildlife Biologist startDate: '2024-05-12T15:53:02.051261' - '@type': Occupation additionalType: self-claimed professional experience name: '2014 - Present: USGS, Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center, Supervisory Research Wildlife Biologist, Boise, Idaho' identifier: - '@type': PropertyValue propertyID: GeoKB value: https://geokb.wikibase.cloud/entity/Q47131 - '@type': PropertyValue propertyID: ORCID value: 0000-0003-4503-8435 jobTitle: Supervisory Research Wildlife Biologist knowsAbout: - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Animal biotelemetry - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Animal movement - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Biology - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Conservation - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Ecology - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Mammalogy - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Ornithology - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: Population biology memberOf: '@type': OrganizationalRole member: '@type': Organization name: U.S. Geological Survey name: staff member startDate: '2024-05-12T15:53:02.048455' name: Todd E Katzner url: https://www.usgs.gov/staff-profiles/todd-e-katzner
