'@context': https://schema.org '@type': Person affiliation: [] description: - '@type': TextObject abstract: Physical Scientist with the Upper Midwest Water Science Center additionalType: short description - '@type': TextObject abstract: Michelle Nott (formerly Lutz) is a Physical Scientist with the Upper Midwest Water Science Center. additionalType: staff profile page introductory statement - '@type': TextObject abstract: She started at the Center in 2001, and has worked on various projects since then. For several years she worked intensively with the NAWQA Mercury Topical Team, investigating biogeochemical cycling of mercury through geographically diverse ecosystems. Her emphasis was on streambed sediment and consideration of the distribution and prevalence of various bed sediment characteristics on interpretation of analytical results. Following the completion of this project, she turned her attention to more local studies. Her recent work has focused on investigations in urban streams with chronically depressed dissolved oxygen levels, as well as investigations of biofilm communities growing in streams receiving airport deicer runoff. In addition to these more focused studies, she also provides field, GIS, and database support to other local and regional projects. additionalType: personal statement email: mnott@usgs.gov hasCredential: - '@type': EducationalOccupationalCredential name: B.S. in Bacteriology, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2000 hasOccupation: - '@type': OrganizationalRole affiliatedOrganization: '@type': Organization name: Upper Midwest Water Science Center url: https://www.usgs.gov/centers/upper-midwest-water-science-center roleName: Physical Scientist startDate: '2024-05-10T20:59:53.707447' identifier: - '@type': PropertyValue propertyID: ORCID value: 0000-0003-3968-7586 - '@type': PropertyValue propertyID: GeoKB value: https://geokb.wikibase.cloud/entity/Q54126 jobTitle: Physical Scientist knowsAbout: - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: water resources - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: aquatic ecosystems - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: benthic ecosystems - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: environmental assessment - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: habitats - '@type': Thing additionalType: self-claimed expertise name: surface water quality memberOf: '@type': OrganizationalRole member: '@type': Organization name: U.S. Geological Survey name: staff member startDate: '2024-05-10T20:59:53.703708' name: Michelle A Nott url: https://www.usgs.gov/staff-profiles/michelle-nott
