She also received her master\u2019s degree in environmental and biological science from Troy University (Alabama) and her bachelor's degree in biology from the Universidad Nacional de San Agustin (Arequipa, Peru). Her research interests include population genetics/genomics and phylogenetics in mussels, fish, and wildlife species."
